Een postbode besluit om een aantal van de meest voorkomende vragen over de Kerstman te beantwoorden. Hij vertelt over Kris, een kleine baby die wordt achtergelaten op de stoep van de familie Kringle. Later, als Kris groot is geworden, wil hij graag speelgoed uitdelen aan de kinderen van Sombertown. Hij wordt tegen gewerkt door de gemene Herr Meisterburger en door een slechte tovenaar, genaamd Winter, die tussen de familie Kringle en het stadje Sombertown in woont.
